Hand hygiene product availability is essential for any infection prevention programme to work properly. It means that people can clean or disinfect their hands whenever they need to in line with agreed procedures and protocols.
Regular checks of product levels in dispensers followed up by quick and simple refills make it easier to maintain product availability. But in even the best organised and executed programmes it is still possible to miss when a dispenser is running low or – even worse still – has run completely out of product.
